We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources.
Information we receive from you on applications and other forms (such as name, address, assets, income and employer) to establish membership or to obtain loans, credit cards or other financial products or services.
Information about your transactions (such as account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage) with us or others.
Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency (such as your credit worthiness and credit history).
Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms. This may be obtained from sources such as your current or past employers, landlords, or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.
Information we obtain about you in connection with providing a financial product or service to you.
Occasionally we share information with companies that are hired to perform marketing or other services on our behalf. If we share your information, it is with the goal of bringing you quality services, more choices and greater convenience. To protect our members' privacy, we choose only companies who meet our security and privacy requirements. We work only with companies if it is legally permissible and they agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections. We limit the use of information we provide and do not permit these companies to sell any member information we provide to other third parties. We may disclose all the information we collect, as described above, to these companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
In order to conduct the business of the credit union, we may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you under other circumstances as permitted or required by law (for example, in response to a lawful request issued by a court, government agency, or regulatory authority). These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of your credit union, follow your instructions as you authorize, or protect the security of your financial records.
If you terminate your membership with Ascend Federal Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law.
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to safeguard your nonpublic personal information.
Our servers collect standard non-identifying information about our Web page visitors. This information is viewed only in aggregate and is not personally identifying. For example, we collect the date and time of visit, IP address city, state and country. This information is used to compile standard statistics on site usage only.
Please note that all credit union loan applications are maintained behind secure firewalls.
If personal identifying information is received via an email from you, this information will only be used to communicate with you and to handle your request. Unfortunately, email transmissions are not necessarily secure against interceptions. If communication is very sensitive or includes personal information like your credit union account number or Social Security number, you may want to send it by postal mail instead.
